We are looking for a seasoned IT Privacy Compliance Manager to help us lead strategic initiatives to continuously enhance our compliance methodology and processes. This role has impact across critical areas of Privacy and similar compliance areas.

This space has a high degree of ambiguity, and you must enjoying diving deep into data, solving problems and thinking big, with a strong bias for action. A great candidate will have a unique combination of experience with complex and ambiguous regulatory and technical environments, high judgement in prioritization and trade off decisions, and ability to lead effective risk and compliance projects with different businesses and stakeholders. You will drive risk assessments, escalations, and mitigation strategies across a diverse group of partners and risk disciplines, playing a vital role in ensuring that Amazon complies with global legal and compliance requirements. You will join a team that partners across Amazon businesses to shape the future of Amazon’s evolving risk and compliance programs and where we value ownership, insight, intellectual flexibility, and sound business judgment. You will partner with critical stakeholders in delivering metrics and narrative inputs to various external compliance and risk assessment reports that span numerous Amazon businesses.

Key job responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
  • Build and manage partnerships with internal business stakeholders. Manage relationship and engagements with external auditors.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units on risk management and control practices.
  • Coach non-risk/compliance professionals on key elements of Risk management best practices.
  • Professional Development/Leadership:
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in auditing, compliance, and privacy
  • Mentor Privacy Services team members on Privacy Compliance and contribute to the overall growth of the audit and assurance function
  • Participate in relevant professional organizations and continuing education opportunities

Basic Qualifications

6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience assessing complex systems, complex data, IT Operations or advising on the implementation of Privacy regulations
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating compliance initiatives to management and senior leadership
  • Experience owning compliance projects and end to end delivery
  • Experience with data analytics, process improvement and automation enhancement projects
  • Proven ability to work with high levels of ambiguity
  • Experience partnering with and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Experience in managing a diverse set of stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (CISA, CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE, PECB, CDP)
  • Proven history of analyzing data, metrics, and situations to identify meaningful observations and drive improvements
  • Experience with GRC and data analytic tools
  • Experience or knowledge of privacy regulations
  • Experience with process improvement, Kaizen, and six sigma.
